A Man on the Moon

This is a photo of Neil Armstrong, who was the first person to walk on the moon. This photo shaped society in 1969. It gave society hope, and showed how powerful technology is.

Famine in Somalia

I found this photo taken by James Nachtwey very moving, and extremely sad. This is a photo shows how people in Somalia were suffering, and were in extreme poverty. In this photo you can see how thin and malnourished these people are.

Seeing some of those photos showed me the reality of society many years ago. The photo of the ‘white’ and ‘coloured’ water fountains portrayed how unfair coloured people were treated. Also, in the video I learned that people mostly only believed what they saw in photographs.
